About

An avid world traveler, Rick's love of photography first blossomed in Sydney Australia in 2001 while walking the streets with an old fashion film camera.  He was captivated by the city's architecture, landscapes and monuments.  These early photographs inspired him to further study the art of photography.  In it, he found a way to share his love of people, cultures and travel.

In the early stages of his career, Rick focused his lens on intriguing landscapes, cityscapes, and other compositions--most without people in the frame. After studying at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island Rick became interested in how the presence of people defines a moment in time within a photograph.  This realization helped make his work richer and more personal.

Rick's photographs are not staged.  He does not search for a photograph, he lets the scenes he encounters create themselves organically so that he can capture a moment in time that evokes an emotional human element.  This is the idea behind the site's name "Incognito".

Rick Catallozzi Jr., his wife Jihae and Daughter Zia live, print and frame all images in Narragansett, Rhode Island U.S.A.
